Killer celebrate International Women’s Day 2021

Today is International Women’s Day, a global day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Organisations and individuals all over the world will be engaging in activity today to celebrate women’s achievements and rally for women’s equality.

With the Killer Creative team – and much of the charity sector we work in – predominantly consisting of women, we’re reminded every day what an incredible contribution women make to changing the world and making it a better place. To mark the occasion, we asked some of our staff to tell us what IWD means to them…

Louisa – Account Director

I am surrounded by so many strong and brilliant women, from my mum and my friends, to family and colleagues, and together we achieve so much. Happy International Women’s Day – let’s celebrate every single woman on this planet, and in the words of Michelle Obama, “there is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.”

Sophie – Fundraising Director

I take working with inspiring, powerful women for granted – our agency and the charity sector has so many that I get to spend time with on a daily basis. International Women’s Day is a reminder for me that it was not always like this and is still not always the case in many industries and countries. I support this Day as a way to help make sure that by the time my daughter Lyra enters the workplace, my experience will be the norm everywhere.

Dave – Art Director

I am fortunate enough to work alongside some wonderful and talented women, all of whom play a huge role in helping to drive us forward as an Agency onto bigger and better things. I see opportunities for women in today’s world that wouldn’t have been available to them just 15 years ago. I am excited by what the future holds for my daughter as a woman, in both a professional and personal capacity, and how the positive changes we are making in today’s society will benefit her as she grows.

Lou – Client Development Manager

International Women’s Day is important to me as it’s an opportunity to acknowledge how far we’ve come in women’s liberation, celebrate strong female role models and also bring light to where we still need progression – the gender pay gap persists, men still overwhelmingly hold positions of power and there is an ongoing fight (even in “progressive” countries) for women to have autonomy of their own bodies. Everyone has a part to play in making the world a fairer place for all!

Tom – Graphic Designer

International Women’s Day is an important moment to remember how many wonderful women we have the pleasure to work with. It’s important to us as an agency to keep developing and the women at Killer play a huge roll in make us better at what we do. We have achieved so much together and it makes me proud to say that I work with some fantastic women.

Nicki – Project Manager

To all the ladies out there, Happy International Women’s Day!! You guys have got this; continue to do amazing things each day and be each other’s cheerleaders! Today and always, let’s support each other and have each other’s back!
